Haiwa Ye began her piano studies in China at age seven. At the age of thirteen, she was accepted by the Secondary School of Xinghai Conservatory of Music in Guangzhou, where she studied with Professor Tiandong Huang. In 2008, Miss Ye enrolled in the Bachelor of Music program at Xinghai Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Professor Helen Sim. Professor Sim holds a Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School and was a student of Mme. Oxana Yablonskaya.
In 2012, Ms. Ye finished her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance and was awarded a full scholarship to the UBC School of Music where she was fortunate to study with famous American-Canadian pianist Sara Davis Buechner. Her Master of Music degree was completed in 2014. In addition to solo performance, Ms. Ye also has a great passion for chamber music. Her repertoire includes but is not limited to: Trio in B-Flat Major Op.11, “Archduke Trio” Op.97 by Ludwig van Beethoven, Sonata in A major for violin and piano by Cesar Franck, The “Trout” Quintet in A major by Franz Schubert, Septet Op.65 by Saint-Saens, Piano Trio No.1 in G Minor by Sergei Rachmaninoff, Horn Trio in E-Flat Major, Op.40 by Johannes Brahms, Sonata for Trumpet and Piano by Kent Kennan.

Second Prize, The World Chinese Arts Festival (Guangzhou Division), Adolescent Group B
First Prize in 2006, The Shenzhen Youth piano Arts competition
Second Prize in 2006, and the First Prize in the "Free Choice Pieces" category in The 14th Hong Kong-Asia Piano Open Competition (Guangzhou Division) in 2007
