Alec Pearson

Alec Pearson is an active performing artist who has studied extensively in Canada and abroad with some of the best guitarists in the world (David Russell, Roberto Aussel, Manuel Barrueco, Paul Galbraith, Pepe Romero, Fabio Zanon). He is also an active board member for the Vancouver Classic Guitar Society, responsible for organizing open mics, socials, and concerts.

Alec is a dedicated and experienced teacher who has a love for promoting music and classical guitar. He has been teaching since 2006 in locations such as the United Conservatory of Music (Calgary, AB), the Music Centre of Canada (Airdrie, AB), as well as privately. He was also a volunteer teacher with the Vancouver Children’s Hospital.

Alec was awarded a scholarship for outstanding academics and performance ability from the University of British Columbia. He also studied composition under Rosemary Mountain at Concordia University. He performed regularly as a part of his degree requirements from both the University of British Columbia and the Universitat d’Alicante.
